Preparing for my garden...
My husband thinks I have officially "gone off the deep end" :) This is what he saw, his wife peeling bananas for our breakfast, then taking the banana peels and putting them into a freezer bag and then, popping them in the freezer.
He says, WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING? I calmly reply, freezing banana peels :) ha! I love to keep him guessing. But, I won't keep you all guessing...
I read this tip somewhere, that a woman begins freezing her banana peels in February in preparation for MULCHING. So, in an effort to take it to the next level, I not only am freezing banana peels, but I also decided I would freeze my egg shells, too. I have bags of banana peels and egg shells in my big freezer - when I have tomatoes the size of watermelon this year...it will have been worth it all! :)
Last year we had such a COLD summer in Chicago (only one day over 90!!) , it took till almost September for the tomatoes to ripen. crazy!
Enjoying our early spring day with temps in the 80's. Bike riding with the kids and telling April Fools jokes were a highlight today. I hope your day was filled with such simple pleasures!
